We visit the wards of the children’s hospital as Mickey, Minne and
santa giving out selection boxes to the kids.

Every year we take time out to raise as much money as we can for
the children’s hospital Belfast.

(Raising £10,000 last year)

This money helps us provide things that we take for granted in
everyday!

A little bit about what we do…

Over the past couple of years the patrons of the Devenish have
raised money for several charities, We have raised money for the NI children’s
hospice and MRI appeal for the RVH to name but a few.

Four years ago the committee unilaterally agreed that we would
support the Royal Belfast Hospital for sick children, this charity as stuck close to our hearts for the fourth time this year.

This charity has been different for us!!

Every penny we raise goes directly to Royal Belfast Hospital For
sick children’s wards.

On the 25th November 2013 we met with Jenne (play specialist) and
Nigel (Helping hands) to ask them what we could provide them with – basically a
shopping list.

We were prepared for the “ You can’t go there”, “Can’t do that ”
but do our amazement they were very accommodating – they actually wanted us to
do alot more had anticipated.

What hit us all personally was their first request – Christmas
tree lights, something we all take for granted but they just don’t have the
means to buy them.

Shopping list confirmed we were shown around one of the many
wards. With a total of 106 beds it is still anticipated that 60 children will
spend their Christmas in hospital.

The staff could not emphasise their delight at what we were doing
for them – in their own words “This is a lot of money we are not accustomed to
– Thank you.

Your donations help so much for us to buy the stuff the hospital
need for these children, books, toys, art supplies, sensory lights, TV’s,
DVD’s, tablets etc and helps us on Christmas week itself to have Santa, Olaf
and Elsa going round the wards to see the children handing out a toy and
selection box.

Any donation, no matter how small is greatly appreciated.
